This Privacy Policy applies to all mobile applications and digital products published by Matrix Digital Media LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), including HiveHelper and any future apps. By using our apps, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Our apps allow you to enter and store content such as inspection logs, notes, observations, and other data you create within the app. This information is entered voluntarily and is stored locally on your device. We do not access or read the content of your personal entries.
Photos
If you attach photos within our apps, those photos are stored locally on your device by default. In certain features, photos may be uploaded to third-party services for analysis — for example, photos of hive frames may be submitted to LandLens.ai via their API for automated frame review. This only occurs when you explicitly use that feature. Photos submitted for analysis are subject to LandLens.ai's privacy policy and data handling practices.
Usage and Analytics Data
We collect anonymous usage data to understand how our apps are used and to improve the experience. This includes information such as which features are used, how often, and general interaction patterns. This data does not include the content of your personal entries and is not linked to your identity.

Purchase Information
If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your purchase status (e.g., active subscription) but do not receive your payment details, credit card information, or billing address.
Device Information
We may collect general device information such as operating system version and device type for the purpose of crash reporting and compatibility improvements.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain app functionality
- To understand usage patterns and improve our products
- To verify purchase and subscription status
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues
We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
3. Data Storage
By default, all personal data you enter into our apps is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers and is not accessible to us.
In future versions of our apps, we may offer optional cloud backup or sync features powered by Firebase (Google LLC). If and when such features are introduced, they will be opt-in, clearly disclosed, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
4. Third-Party Services
Our apps may integrate with the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — for processing in-app purchases and subscriptions. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — for anonymous usage analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- LandLens.ai — for AI-powered analysis of hive frame photos when that feature is used. Photos submitted are processed per LandLens.ai's privacy policy.
We may add additional third-party services in the future. This policy will be updated to reflect any such additions.
5. User Accounts
Our current apps do not require you to create an account or provide personally identifying information such as your name or email address to use core features. Future versions may offer optional account creation to enable features such as cloud sync across devices.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
All locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data associated with it. Anonymous analytics data is retained per Firebase's standard retention policies.
7. Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information under normal app usage, there is typically no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about data collected through analytics or future cloud features, you may contact us at any time.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
