HiveHelper — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a hive?

From the main screen, tap Add Hive and fill in the hive name and any optional details such as hive type and acquisition date. Your hive will appear on the home screen once saved.

How do I log an inspection?

Tap on any hive to open its detail view, then tap New Inspection. Work through the checklist — queen status, brood pattern, honey stores, and more. You can add notes and photos before saving.

What is included in the free tier?

The free tier includes up to 2 hives, inspection history for the last 60 days, and 2 AI guidance uses. Upgrading to HiveHelper Pro removes all limits and unlocks unlimited hives, full history, and unlimited AI guidance.

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Tap the Upgrade prompt when you hit a free tier limit, or access it through the app settings. HiveHelper Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription, both with a 7-day free trial. Payment is processed securely through Apple.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you've previously subscribed and need to restore access, open the paywall screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone to view and cancel your HiveHelper Pro subscription at any time.

Is my data backed up?

All your inspection data and photos are stored locally on your device. Your data is included in your iPhone's standard iCloud or iTunes backup if you have backups enabled. We do not store your personal data on our servers.

What is AI guidance?

After completing an inspection, HiveHelper can provide AI-powered guidance based on your observations. This feature analyzes the data you entered and offers context-aware suggestions. An internet connection is required to use this feature.

What is frame photo analysis?

HiveHelper allows you to upload photos of hive frames for automated analysis via LandLens.ai. This feature is optional and only activates when you explicitly submit a photo for review. Submitted photos are processed by LandLens.ai per their privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual inspections or hives from within the app. To remove all data, delete the app from your device. Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the app permanently removes it.
